My fragmented poem, housed in a tobacco tin, grew exponentially as it traveled across Montana. The following plaque accompanied my tobacco tin poem, pictured, which returned to me full of new stunning and mysterious poetry.

"Open me. Hello, yes—tobacco tin speaking! Touch me, don't be shy. Open my lid and choose your very own piece of my curlicued insides. I hold snippets of a poem written for and about the Moon-Randolph Homestead, one of Open AIR's residency sites. Pick a scroll, pluck it out, and tuck it in your pocket. Scan the QR Code. With it, you can find the full poem, its yet-unfolding evolutions, and how to add your voice. I hope you'll write your own poem inspired by your scroll or this exhibit at large and submit it there."

Co-Flourish, a traveling Open AIR Exhibition

Torrents

Confluence Center downtown Missoula, August 2024. This First Friday Gallery Opening was hosted by VonCommon Studios. I contributed three art books and a Wonder-Gizmos mailing.

10th Annual Missoula Monster Show

Zootown Arts Center Community Center, September 2024. My monster, Millie of Darkness, was a watercolor children’s book about a monster overcoming her fear of the dark. The sculptural book cover began my fascination with using 3D printing as a medium for art books and is available for sale reach out to taylorstein16@gmail.com.

Treasure Trove

Historical Museum at Fort Missoula, Feburary - September 2026
To celebrate its golden anniversary, the Historical Museum at Fort Missoula presents Everyday Treasures, showcasing over 400 of the Museum’s unique and meaningful artifacts donated during the first decade of the Museum’s collecting. These seemingly ordinary items provide a glimpse into the past-illustrating the story of early Montana, the people who lived here and how they engaged with their families, friends, environment and community. By invitation only, local artists were asked to respond to artifacts within the gallery. I responded to a lock of hair with a painted window installation.

Annual Mini Show

Zootown Arts Community Center, March 2026. The ZACC's signature fundraising banquet and art auction, the ZACC Mini Show, is one of the most creative and well-attended art events in Western Montana. Each year, a sold-out crowd enjoys a silent and live auction of mini artworks by well-known regional artists. I contributed an asymmetric jewelry design from my In the Undertow collection that featured mother of pearl moons.

Riot in Color

Bob's Your Uncle, June 2026. Bob’s Your Uncle, a contemporary art gallery, presents "Riot in Color," a juried exhibition celebrating the expressive power of color. Featuring artists working across a variety of media, the exhibition showcases work that uses color to evoke emotion, create energy, challenge perception, and engage the viewer. I contributed a wire and papier-mache sculpture entitled The Garden After Us, made entirely with found and recycled materials.

Recent Talks & Appearances

In May of 2026 I spoke at The Makers & Creative Entrepreneurs Conference (MCEC) the Rocky Mountain West's premier gathering for artists, makers, and creators. The inaugural event, organized by the Missoula Makers Collective, focused on helping creators build, sustain, and scale their handmade businesses.

My session, Demystifying Grant Writing, sought to connect more makers and artists with grant funding.
