Teaching & Workshops
As a teaching artist, writer, and creative facilitator, I design workshops and arts experiences that invite people to make, imagine, explore, and connect. Drawing from storytelling, visual art, shadow puppetry, book arts, folklore, and creative play, my programs encourage curiosity, experimentation, and the joy of discovering something unexpected.
I work with participants of all ages—from young children to older adults—and have seen creativity thrive when people are given permission to wonder, experiment, and make something their own.
I partner with schools, libraries, museums, nonprofits, businesses, and community organizations to create engaging, hands-on arts experiences tailored to each audience.

Experience
For more than a decade, I've taught creative writing, storytelling, and interdisciplinary arts in a variety of settings, from universities and community organizations to correctional facilities and public arts programs. My approach emphasizes curiosity, experimentation, collaboration, and the belief that creativity belongs to everyone.
I hold an MFA in Creative Writing from the University of Montana, where I was the two-time recipient of the Tim O'Leary and Michelle Cardinal Scholarship in Prose and served as Fiction Editor for Cutbank Literary Magazine. In addition to developing and producing my own artistic work, I've facilitated workshops, led creative programming, and designed participatory arts experiences for diverse audiences.
Past teaching, arts education, and community engagement work includes:
-
9.5 years teaching with and supporting the grants and development needs of the Free Verse Writing Project
